The Thing alien design 1

I don't know why the hell am I posting this at all ...... cause it's not even in color!

So, the Thing prequel fever, I am a fan of The Thing 1982 version, seen gazillion of times and still can't get passed of being scared of this movie.

Personally, I think the Thing is some kind of extraterrestrial viral or a microorganism kinda like a virus but super intelligent. While possesses no actual form, the Thing assimilates its victim by "devouring".....or absorbing the victim's gene or whatever the hell it is and it imitates the other life forms perfectly without a flaw.

Since it can imitate million of life forms with no limit, it is really saddened by the fact that it has no default form for us to validate its true origin and species.
So having assimilated a lot of life forms, the Thing's body may have dozen of mutation characteristic features being blended into one.

Anyway, if you haven't seen the Thing yet, then why the hell are you reading this?? You should have a look at it >8), oh and seek out the 50s version too, it might look interesting...

Done today. The actual drawing should actually takes about 45 minutes but I was being slacker so the drawing ended up for 2 hours and a half.
First I started out as pencil until I got fed up to erase all the lines, so I skipped the pencil and grabbed the BIC Ballpoint pen.
Potatoshop CS3 touch up the line for sharper/darker outline because my scanner ate it.

Ref. used. I will give the whole details about which animals I used for this picture. It's a lot of random + fantasy. Stay tune for the color version.

I know, the composition is soooooooooooo off the left side but that's alright, I will fix it on Potatoshop CS3.
